Originally supplied to California in 1964 and by 2007 it had just two owners and had covered only 24,000 miles before being expertly restored to its current state of perfection. The rare and desirable colour combination of black paintwork and interior has thankfully been maintained and the specification also remains just as when it left the factory.
There is a set of photographs showing that, despite the thorough and compromise free restoration that it has undergone, the car was actually in a sensationally good and completely corrosion free condition and perhaps needed nothing more than a re-commission.
However, the key to resulting in the very best E-Type is to start with the very best – and this is indeed now one of the very best that we have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale.
The restoration is documented in a magazine feature which is present in the healthy history box. More importantly, the folder documents the cars life right back to original purchase and the invoice shows that the buyer had part exchanged his ’61 Impala for it.
He kept the E-Type for over 20 years and it has had only one further owner before its more recent restoration. The file also contains fascinating period articles and documentation including Jaguar Drivers Club magazines sent from the club office in Worcester, UK to the owner in California when the car was virtually new.
This E-type is well featured in Philip Porters 'The Iconic E-Type' publication as part of a fabulous fashion shoot by Abigail Humphries.
The full set of relevant stunning images will be supplied with car enabling pictures or posters to be printed for your wall.
