Jaguar Cars celebrated the end of the line for the epic E-Type with 50 special V12 Roadsters. They were black with cinnamon trim and have now, of course, become a most highly prized and collectable model.
This example was supplied to Mr H Gilbert in August of 1974 by Henlys of London and appears to have lived a cherished life. The documentation and condition support the exceedingly low mileage of just 26,740 miles.
In 2004 it changed ownership at 24,880 miles and benefited from mechanical refreshment that included renewal of many components subject to ageing.
A stainless steel exhaust and new chrome wire wheels and tyres where fitted and the entire braking system, oil seals, bearings, bushes, rubber hoses, belts and other perishable components where extensively and expertly overhauled making the car usable and reliable once again.
Wisely, the rubber suspension bushes have been replaced with superior polyurethane bushings which will now last indefinitely.
