In conjunction with Crosthwaite and Gardner, further development of our 4.7 litre engine is nearly complete - utilising an aluminium block.

Special 4.7 internals including crankshaft, pistons, and conrods are tried, tested and currently in use in many Eagle built E-Types giving them an increase in power and huge torque.
The incorporation of this lightweight cylinder block, however, will be a world first. It will save a substantial amount of weight from a critical position in the car and vastly improve the entire dynamics of the car.

From an entire van load of very special wooden bucks and cores, the block has been cast and has been machined at the Crosthwaite & Gardner engineering facility. It is now in our surgically clean new XK engine building facility undergoing final assembly. It complements our own well established aluminium 5 speed gearbox perfectly - and it further demonstrates our total dedication and commitment to the Jaguar E-Type.

The very first all aluminium 4.7 litre XK engine in the world has now been succesfully run and mapped on the dyno'. It is very soon to be fitted into our Jaguar E-Type Speedster 'Lightweight' model in conjunction with our aluminium gearbox and aluminium differential.

We fully expect the entire Speedster 'Lightweight' to weigh just 1000kg and with well over 300ft/lbs of torque it is guaranteed to be a sensation.
