About Eagle

A Passion for E-Types

At Eagle, we are driven by a passion for just one car, the E-Type Jaguar. All of our work, including our bespoke “re-manufactured” Eagle E-type, is based around an original car, built at Jaguar’s home, Brown’s Lane.

The Eagle E-Type concept was introduced by the future owner of what would become Eagle E-Type number 1, best selling author - John McLaren. John loved the E-Type as much as us, and back in 1992 we discussed together the problem of so many compromised ‘conventional’ restoration processes, often little more than a very shiny respray, rechrome and retrim, and superficial mechanical repair. As a result of this discussion, we decided to drop the regular ‘restoration’ side completely from Eagle, and instead offer a total no- compromise restoration requiring well over 2,000 man hours per car – at a fixed price. This completely removed the worry of the unpleasant surprises so often encountered mid way through extensive restoration projects. Since this time, just two Eagles have been produced per year, making them the most exclusive hand built cars in the world! In addition to this, we greatly enjoy tracking down the best E-Types available in the market, committing them to our comprehensive preparation programme and supplying them to equally passionate new owners. To date, we have supplied well over 300 Jaguar E-Types worldwide, all to extremely satisfied new owners. The only problem is that they then never want to part with them, making our job of restocking the showroom often very difficult and frustrating!

We get immense satisfaction developing our Eagle Engineered upgrades, which we firmly believe add significantly to the cars’ capability and enjoyability. However, we refuse to dilute the core of the wonderful original car, which is why you will never find on our options list a supercharged XJR engine or an electric soft top.

We also love driving our cars.

Our development programme originally sprang from Eagle’s MD, Henry Pearman’s participation in the world’s first long distance classic car rally, the 1988 Pirelli Classic Marathon. His fifth place overall, in a 2,000 mile rally to the Alps and back, locked in a rally long battle with Eagle’s Paul Brace, resulted in a few tweaks and mods, and a return to win the 1989 event. This car is still at Eagle, and today serves as a test bed and demonstrator for Eagle’s constantly evolving upgrades. Over the years, it has been seen leading the first Jaguar World tour to Sweden, racing at the XK 50 anniversary meeting in 1998, driving to Geneva as part of the factory’s 40th anniversary tour in 2001 and partaking in Australia’s Classic Adelaide rally, with Win Percy, in 2002.
