Jaguar E-Type 1964 Series 1 Roadster for sale

Owned by a single family for the majority of its life, this 1964  Californian example has featured prominently in both Sports Car International & Classic Cars magazine as well as several Concours events.

In quite exceptional condition, the highlight has to be the completely original tan leather interior which has mellowed beautifully over the years.

Presented in Opalescent Golden Sand, it has been under cherished ownership of a single family and has been used sparingly but regularly. It underwent a careful and sympathetic repaint in the original colour around 30 years ago to freshen the naturally dulled paintwork and the result is clear to see.

It has driven just 76,661 miles from new and has a comprehensive service record from the very beginning of ownership.

The car was the subject of an in-depth colour feature in Sports Car International in 2004 and was also the cover car in Classic Cars magazine - becoming the writer’s favourite car in the process.

Complementing this originality are the number of sympathetic, yet sensible reliability upgrades already fitted. Among the options are an aluminium radiator, uprated cooling fan and electronic ignition. Koni shock absorbers and wider wire wheels are also fitted for a more confident drive, with the whole package gifting this E-Type a great balance of originality and usability.
