The Historic Motoring Awards are renowned as the most prestigious in the classic automotive world, and in their 9th year were held at the 5-star Rosewood Hotel in Holborn, London.
The 32 judges included a range of experts across the industry and organisers of world class specialist events, together with experts from the media and noted luminaries including Jay Leno and Bruce Meyer. We were delighted therefore that our very own Henry Pearman was chosen to receive the Personal Achievement Award for his work at Eagle over the last 35 years.
Presented the award by Octane's James Elliot and then interviewed onstage by Steve Rider, Henry put down the success of Eagle to include him falling in love with the E-Type at four years of age and making it his life long passion, his professional relationships with Paul Brace and Matthew Dewhurst, being commissioned by John McLaren in 1991 to build what became Eagle E-Type No.1, and above all the hard work and dedication of the entire Eagle team over all these years.
Henry met and competed against Paul during the 1988 Pirelli Classic Marathon and they joined forces the following year at Eagle and also drove together in the 1990 event, which incidentally was where Steve Rider first interviewed Henry at the event's press launch. Eagle E-Type No.1 is still the prized possession of John, who now works with Eagle as Non-Executive Chairman and the entire Eagle team joined clients from across the globe during the three day anniversary celebrations held at Goodwood this May.
So this award is a welcome recognition of what Eagle have achieved over the last 35 years with the Jaguar E-Type - here's to many more years!
