  • Jaguar E-Type ‘Reborn’ – fully restored and authenticated by the Jaguar Factory.

    Already long-established were Aston Martin’s Works Service and Ferrari’s Classiche departments, specialist branches of the manufacturer set up to specialise in the firms’ historic cars, and so it was only natural that Jaguar would follow suit. What many didn’t predict however was the effort, resources and money that Jaguar Land Rover would invest into the project.

    Today Jaguar Classic Works boasts the largest facility of this kind in the world and offers authentic factory-correct restorations for its heritage models, with the resultant cars becoming limited edition ‘Reborn’ examples. This 1965 Jaguar E-Type is one of those rare examples.

    Built on New Year’s Eve 1965 and dispatched from Browns Lane 18 days later, this Jaguar E-Type was destined for a life in the USA. For its fortunate new owner this E-Type would have represented the very best way to start 1966.

    A matching numbers example of the later 4.2-litre Series 1 E-Type, this car featured a number of desirable revisions over the earlier 3.8-litre offering. An all-synchro gearbox significantly improved the driving experience, especially with more torque available from the larger engine, while the bench-style seats provided greater comfort.

    Offered fresh from its full factory restoration this Coupe is one of just a very small number of ‘Reborn’ E-Types to have become publicly available and, most significantly, its availability through Eagle means that this is the only Reborn E-Type Coupe eligible for Eagle’s exclusive upgrades and servicing.

    While some may wish for this E-Type to remain as authentic as possible, the option is available should the new owner wish to incorporate some subtle reliability upgrades. In that instance, we feel that this Coupe would truly offer the perfect combination of purity and enhanced usability.
