1963 Series 1 3.8 Coupe

A beautifully original and charming Californian Coupe, taken care of by its first owner for 45 years and with a mere 56,874 miles from new.

Dispatched from a wintery Browns Lane in late November 1963 this Jaguar E-Type was destined for the far more hospitable climates of Los Angeles, and was delivered to its owner just a stone’s throw from Hollywood. In Tinsel Town’s golden age, where fellow E-Type owners included the world’s greatest A-listers, the owner of this Coupe must have felt a part of a deeply exclusive club.

In 2011, after an incredible 45-year single ownership, the E-Type was sold back to England to just its second owner. Its time spent in the Californian sun had preserved the body in outstanding original condition and upon its repatriation the E-Type required only a sympathetic re-commission.

While beautifully revitalised with a repaint in the original Cream and reupholstered in Red, the all-original under bonnet finishes have been carefully preserved and provide an evocative reminder of this car’s originality.

The combination of consistent ownership, the Californian climate and the very fine condition of this iconic sporting coupe makes this E-Type an ideal candidate for sympathetic Eagle upgrades or simply to enjoy it as the original cars that it is.
