Celebrating 35 years of Eagle at Goodwood

We’ve been working with E-Types for thirty five years, producing our bespoke Eagle E-Type rebuilds for twenty five, and our aluminium E-Type Special Editions for a decade.

We’ve been working with E-Types for thirty five years, producing our bespoke Eagle E-Type rebuilds for twenty five, and our aluminium E-Type Special Editions for a decade.

The twenty fifth anniversary of the Eagle E-Type needed a real celebration - the astoundingly positive press reaction to this car set the trajectory for our company for the following decades.

To mark this ‘triple milestone’ we grabbed the opportunity to celebrate our company, the E-Type and the very best of the Sussex countryside we call home. We invited the owners of these 54 landmark cars commissioned and built to date to join us - as well as the prospective owners of the 9 currently in build.

We’re fortunate that our expertise has attracted an international following, and we were delighted when arrangements were made to ship cars and fly owners from as far afield as Malaysia, Argentina, the USA - as well as all over Europe.

A real delight was to see Eagle E-Type No.3 (Jaguar's original press car  JDU 877E) resplendent in Primrose Yellow arrive along with the owner Lim from Malaysia - the first time we have seen him or No.3 for twenty three years!

We also marked two very special new deliveries - with Speedster No.6 and Low Drag GT No.3 both being presented to their delighted new owners at the event.

We were also delighted to have famed photographer James Lipman over from Palm Springs to catalogue the event - we’ve worked with him for many years and it was great that we could tempt him back for this wonderful three day event.

Of course, we had to choose Goodwood.

Beginning at Eagle HQ deep in the Sussex countryside, the owners were given an in-depth tour of our facilities and met the full Eagle team.

We undertake a broader spread of work across the disciplines in-house than any other restorer or manufacturer and there was plenty to see and learn about the lengths we go to in our quest for perfection.

The weather was kind, and after a glorious drive through the countryside we arrived at the Goodwood Hotel and after checking in we headed to the Goodwood Kennels for an informal evening barbeque.

The next day dawned bright and clear and it was the perfect opportunity for our guests to try the famous Goodwood Hill Climb in their E-Types.

Then we headed on to the famous Nyetimber Estate for a tour, wine tasting and sumptuous lunch in the medieval barn.

The evening was reserved for a black tie celebration dinner at Goodwood House - where we were joined by the legendary car designer Frank Stephenson, designer of the new Mini, the Fiat 500, Ferrari F430 and the full range of McLaren road cars amongst others. He would deliver the main speech of the evening.

Guests were whisked in considerable style in our fleet of classic Jaguar XJs driven by Eagle staff from the Hotel to the House - where they were treated to a Spitfire display organised for the event.

The final day was spent - where else - but at the Goodwood Races, again via the Hill Climb. We had exclusive use of the Sussex Roof Garden with panoramic views, a private bar and even a ‘tipster’ on hand.

So all in all a suitable celebration - the perfect place, with perfect E-Types - and of course our perfect customers who have entrusted us to deliver to them an ownership experience like no other.

We were delighted to welcome them back from all over the world to the heart of the Sussex countryside as a gesture of thanks for their support over the decades.
